The king of all medicinal mushrooms
Medicinal mushrooms have always been a part of traditional natural medicine. Especially used in ancient times, in China in particular, where therapeutic mushrooms still have a much greater importance than in the Occident, they are also part of the modern repertoire, as flavor enhancers (molds on cheese etc.) and suppliers of antibiotics (peniicillin) etc. In recent times it is to be observed fortunately that medicinal mushrooms attain again increasingly a medical meaning in the western medicine, justifiably.
Everybody thinks of Chinese medicinal mushrooms, shiitake, reishi, maitake and others, but the king of mushrooms, Agaricus blazei murril, comes from Brazil. Although discovered by Japanese explorers and mostly cultivated there today, it is an original Brazilian product.
Hardly any other mushroom stabilizes the immune system as effectively as the mushroom-like almond mushroom, which in Brazil is also rightly called cogumelo do sol (mushroom of the sun), cogumelo do vida (mushroom of life) or cogumelo de deus (mushroom of God). Whole television reports appear there about this medicinal mushroom, numerous stores exist in all larger cities, which offer only this mushroom and all products around it.
Cogumelo do sol has the highest beta-glucan content of any medicinal mushroom, which has been shown in numerous independent studies to have a definite anti-cancer effect, making its use in alternative cancer therapy and to support the immune system in complementary therapy understandable. Chemotherapy is generally much better tolerated with the use of ABM. But the mushroom is also applicable and effective against many other ailments: depression, a disease that is increasing worldwide, chronic fatigue syndrome in particular.
Coguemelo do sol fits in well with the promising alternative remedies from Brazil, mainly from the Amazon region, such as graviola, unha de gato and pepper tree.
